From Slovenia with Love

Image
Dober dan from Slovenia! We have been here for almost a week already. And, although the country isn't very big (roughly 250km long and 150km wide, so 20,300 km2), it has a lot to offer and all we can say at this point is that we barely scratched the surface.  Did you know that Slovenia is the only country with the word "love" in it's name? Now that sounds promissing... So we started our exploration from the north-west, in order to enjoy the mountains before the temperatures got too cold. And we can confirm, this country really is blessed by nature because the beautiful landscapes and fall colors we saw this past week have been a true feast for our eyes 😍.  Nature is generous here and protecting it is very important to Slovenians. Enjoying it as well! Slovenians are very active and athletic people. Does the name Tadej Pogacar ring a bell?? And that's just one name. Lakes, rivers, waterfalls, mountains, beautiful forests covered with beds of leaves and moss; it...

Following Family Footsteps

Here we are, we have left Voiron after having spent exactly 2 weeks at home. A break that turned out to be very beneficial and allowed us to get organized and fill up on plenty great things before leaving again.  It was a departure under the sun on a Saturday, that turned out to be the start of the fall school holiday break which got us into a nice big traffic jam going through the Frejus tunnel. Surely it's not because the north of Italy isn't worth it !! But mostly because it's not so far away for us and that we wanted to maximize the time spent in countries located further and less accessible with shorter vacation time.  So, our first stopover was in Brugnera, north-east of Venice. The location was not chosen by coincidence,...

Back to Base Camp

Hello all! 2 weeks without getting any news, you must have been wondering what is going on with our wandering around. Well, we are back to base camp where we finally had yesterday, after a 6 month + delay, our appointment for the homologation of our van.  We had gotten back a few days prior in order to get ready for the big day: fixing some little things, emptying, cleaning, etc. We gave ourselves a lot of trouble because in the end, they didn't look at much... Roughly, they verified that the plan we had sent with the position of all the compartments and the measurements matched, that we had a fire extinguisher and that our openings and ventilations met regulations. All this trouble for that!! Well it is what it is, we had to go through it and now it's done. They did ask us to modify 2 small things which we've done already (and we've sent them the pictures proving it) and we are now waiting for THE official document confirming that our van is now certified  VASP (véhicu...
