The 3 Musketeers
The 3 Musketeers, it's us! Because they are actually 4 馃槒
Let me introduce them to you: on the left is Nelly. From Brittany, she's been living in England in the London area for 30 years. I met her in the ladies room at the stadium in Exeter at the France/Ireland game. She's the biggest sports fan I've ever met, fan of ALL sports: rugby, football, tennis and even, cricket... She really needs to get into hockey now 馃槈. She, of course also had tickets for the semifinals so we had arranged to meet up in Bristol. On the bus between London and Bristol, she met Koumiba (on her left and on my right so, between the two of us 馃槄). Former rugby player for France and for Montpellier (among other teams), originally from Alsace, she now lives in Bayonne where she is a massage therapist. For the other 2 Musketeers, I don't think they need to be introduced...
The 4 of us spent 48h together litterally vibrating to the energy of the World Cup. I hadn't had fun like that in a long time, honestly. We saw 2 fantastic games in a wonderful atmosphere and after, we went out for beers for either celebration or consolation馃嵒馃榿.
If you've been following you know that Canda beat New Zealand (the title holders) in the most beautiful way. Here I am with Justine Pelletier from Rivi猫re-du-Loup, Qu茅bec who was elected Player of the Game:
As someone made me notice, she doesn't even look tired after 80 very intense minutes! But I think the joy of victory can make many things go away, as Koumi explained to us when she was talking about when France beat England (and did a Grand Slam) at the 6 Nations tournament in 2014 馃挭. She said: "we were completely broken and aching everywhere, it was so good!!!"
But France did not beat England this time, although they gave them a good fight馃槗. But maybe it's better this way because, had France won, we would have had a France/Canada final... For the sake of harmony and good relations in our van, it's probably a better scenario 馃槀.
I left you decide who of the 4 of us is Dartagnan. As far as I'm concerned, my vote goes to Koumi馃槉.
After all these emotions, delighted with our experience and the wonderful people we met, we hit the road again heading towards Dover and the ferry back to France. And, after 7 great weeks on British soil, we enjoyed a beautiful last evening on the white cliffs:
So we are now back in France and, we have to admit, our taste buds are quite happy about it 馃槃. We're going to wander around the North of France and Normandy until we get summoned for our homologation. J茅r么me followed-up on our situation and we were told it will either be early October or...early November !!! 馃槯. We really hope it will be the 1st scenario or else we will need to review our plans again... We should know more in the upcoming days 馃檹馃檹.
But before then 2 great rugby games still need to be played! Next Saturday at 1:30pm Paris time and 7:30 am Montreal time (it's early, I know), don't miss the 3rd place match between France and New Zealand. Then at 5pm Paris time and 11am Montreal time, it's THE final between Canada and England. Someone really needs to beat the English!!! Or else the Canadians will go back home on this boat that will soon cross the Atlantic 馃槄:
So again and again: Go Canada Go! Allez les Bleues! 馃憤馃憤.
Nelly will be there of course馃榾. We're counting on you Nelly!!
J茅r么me et Sophie
